Consulting Manager, Accounting & Finance

If you’re an experienced finance and accounting leader with strong GAAP and financial operations expertise, and you’re looking to move beyond close cycles and reporting, this role offers something different.

At Lyt, we’re hiring a Consulting Manager for Accounting & Finance to lead client engagements, solve complex accounting and finance challenges, and help build a growing Oklahoma-based, full-service consulting and advisory firm.

This is a high-visibility, client-facing role where you’ll combine technical expertise, leadership, and business impact.

 

What You’ll Do

Lead client engagements

  • Own delivery across multiple accounting and finance projects in diverse industries

  • Partner directly with client leadership to solve complex challenges

  • Provide actionable insights that drive operational and financial improvements

Act as a trusted advisor

  • Serve as the primary client contact for complex issues, scope changes, and strategic recommendations

  • Navigate evolving client needs, scope changes, and strategic priorities

  • Identify root causes and translate financial data into actionable outcomes

  • Deliver solutions focused on efficiency, scalability, and risk management

Lead and develop teams

  • Manage and mentor consultants through hands-on coaching

  • Foster accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement

  • Build a team environment where collaboration across teams is expected and supported

  • Balance delegation with strong visibility into delivery

Drive operational excellence

  • Manage engagement scope, timelines, and profitability

  • Identify process gaps and implement repeatable solutions

  • Build tools, templates, and frameworks that scale

  • Ensure strong documentation, compliance, and data integrity across engagements

Help Lyt Grow

  • Contribute to proposals and client discussions

  • Identify opportunities to expand client relationships

  • Partner with leadership to shape the future of the firm

What We’re Looking For

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, or consulting

  • 2+ years of leadership experience (people, projects, or both)

  • Strong expertise in:

    • U.S. GAAP

    • Financial reporting and close processes

    • Operational accounting

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong communication and organization

  • Advanced skills in Excel, financial modeling, and reporting tools

 

Preferred

  • CPA (strongly preferred)

  • Experience in public accounting, advisory, or client-facing roles

 

Ideal Background

You may come from:

  • Public accounting (Big 4 or regional firm) ready to move into an advisory or leadership role

  • An industry accounting role, but looking for more variety and client exposure

  • Consulting or project-based accounting environment

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $120,000 to $140,000 (based on experience)

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance

  • 401(k)

  • Flexible PTO

  • Hybrid work environment (OKC-based)

  • Limited travel (<20%)
